Magazine Background

Elle Magazine is a lifestyle magazine originally from France. In French, the word Elle means “he”. The topics of this magazine are fashion, beauty, health and entertainment. Elle Magazine was founded in Paris shortly after World War II.

The Primary Goal

The magazine was initially published as a supplement to France-Soir and was edited by Pierre Lazarev at the time. Some time later, Helen Gordon-Lazarev, the pioneer founder of El, returned to Paris from New York City and created a unique publication that was innovative and new in France in 1945. In 1985, Elle Magazine made its way to Britain and the United States. It was published in China later that year.

Expand All Kinds of Magazines

A few years later, in 1989, Hachette Filipacchi Media, which was responsible for the international publication of the magazine, launched another magazine called Elle Decor. The focus of this magazine, which is still being published, is on home interior decoration. Elle Magazine is now a well-known brand in the field of fashion and beauty and is published in 29 different languages around the world.
